Guide updated 17 October 2026. Practice is available now. Check the participant portal for registration availability and your entry status.

01 / BEFORE THE FINAL

Register. Send evidence. Check approval.

  1. Build your Nimzle performance. Play the app and open its Profile page. The overall Nimzle index runs from 0 to 100 and reflects six gameplay measures. It is separate from your championship exam score.
  2. Create an account in the participant portal. Use an email address you can access and a password of at least 12 characters. Complete email verification if prompted, then sign in. Use “Reset password” if you cannot sign in.
  3. Complete your entry. Enter your display name, school/college/institution and current Nimzle index. Read the rules and privacy notice, confirm your details, and submit. Keep the entry number shown in your portal.
  4. Email your evidence to hello@engagetal.com. Send from your registered email address. Attach a clear, unaltered screenshot of the Nimzle Profile page, showing your overall index, gameplay measures and completed attempts. Include your name, institution and entry number in the message. The portal’s “Email screenshot” button prepares the message; you must attach the screenshot and send it yourself.
  5. Check your portal status. “Pending” means your entry awaits a decision; “Approved” allows entry during the exam window; “Rejected” means your entry is not approved. Registering or sending a screenshot does not reserve a place.
Use the Profile screenshot. Nimzle’s Share Result button shares a single-round score card. It may be extra evidence, but it does not replace the Profile screenshot needed for your overall index.

Engagetal will manually shortlist up to 200 students based on Nimzle performance and index. The website does not automatically verify or import app scores. Exact shortlist cutoffs, the application deadline and any age or education restrictions will be announced before approvals. Contact Engagetal to correct an entry; do not create duplicate accounts.

02 / THE COMMON EXAM WINDOW

Be ready before 8 PM.

  • Date: Thursday, 5 November 2026.
  • Start: 8:00 PM IST (14:30 UTC). Finish: 10:00 PM IST (16:30 UTC).
  • Access: sign in with your approved account, open the exam lobby, and refresh its status at the start time to enter.
  • Late entry: the finish time stays 10 PM. Joining at 8:30 PM leaves 90 minutes, not a new two-hour attempt.
  • No pause: refreshing, closing the page, losing connection or opening this guide does not stop the clock. Server time controls access, saving and the cutoff.

Before exam day, try the six-question practice and the full two-hour practice. Use a current browser, reliable internet and a charged device; a laptop or desktop gives the puzzle grids more room. Keep one exam tab on one device, and avoid private browsing or clearing browser storage during your attempt.

All participants receive the same 60-question paper: ten challenges in each of six sections. You can choose the order and divide your time freely; there are no separate section timers. Practice uses different questions and does not affect selection or official rankings.

03 / SIX SECTIONS · TEN CHALLENGES EACH

Learn each kind of move.

Read every question’s instruction: the rule, direction or target can change. These browser challenges adapt Nimzle’s mechanics for the championship.

01 / ECHO

Rebuild the route

Choose Watch sequence and watch the highlighted positions on the 3 × 3 grid. Then tap the numbered tiles in the exact order shown, including any repeated tile. Check “Your route” below the grid.

Correct answer: the full route in the right order, with no missing or extra step. Use Undo to remove the last step or Clear answer to restart. Replaying is allowed and does not erase your existing answer.

02 / SWITCH

Follow the rule and direction

Read the displayed rule, such as odd/even or comparison with 5. Read the numbers in the specified direction: left to right or right to left. Fill answer rows 1, 2, 3… in that reading order.

Correct answer: every row has the correct label. For example, reading 2, 7, 9 from right to left under an odd/even rule produces Odd, Odd, Even. Select a different label in a row to revise it.

03 / FLIP STORM

Recreate the pattern

Choose Study pattern. Remember the highlighted positions during the five-second preview, then select those same positions on the 4 × 4 grid. Tap a selected tile again to deselect it.

Correct answer: exactly the required set of positions. Selection order does not matter; one missing or extra tile makes the challenge incorrect. You may replay the preview. Clear your selection first if you want to study a clean grid.

04 / PAIR POP

Match the numerical partners

Apply the relationship in the instruction to each number on the left and choose its partner on the right. For example, under “multiply by 2, then add 3”, 4 pairs with 11.

Correct answer: every row has the right partner, with each right-hand choice used once. Choosing a partner already used in another row clears that earlier match, so check all rows before moving on.

05 / NUMBER RUSH

Build the ordered ladder

Evaluate any expressions, then tap every tile in the requested ascending or descending order. Small numbered badges show the order you selected. Each tile can be used once.

Correct answer: every tile in the required order. For example, ascending values for 3 + 4, 12 and 2 × 5 are 7, 10, 12. Use Undo to remove the last selected tile or Clear answer to restart.

06 / SIGNAL HUNT

Find the exact target

Read the target and select the tile matching both its shape and colour. Each tile also has a text label, so you can check the colour name and shape directly.

Correct answer: the single matching tile. A matching shape in the wrong colour, or the right colour with a different shape, is incorrect. Selecting another tile replaces your choice.

Memory previews may be replayed without a marks penalty. The overall exam clock continues during every preview.

04 / WHILE YOU WORK

Move freely. Watch your saves.

  • Question navigator: jump to any question, or use Previous and Next. Green means the expected number of answer choices has been entered; it does not mean the answer is correct.
  • Flag for review: adds a dot so you can find a question later. Flags do not change marks or prevent submission.
  • Revise answers: select a replacement where supported, or use Clear answer. Undo removes the last stored answer item; it is not a history of every edit. For patterns, tap a tile to deselect it; for Switch and Pair Pop, revise the relevant row directly.
  • Autosave: while connected, changed official answers are sent to the server about every five seconds. Check for “All answers saved” and the save time. “Unsaved changes” or “Not saved” means your latest edits are not yet confirmed.
Only answers accepted by the server before 10 PM IST count. Leave time for saving and final submission. A local draft or a green navigator tile is not proof that your answer reached the server.

If the connection drops, reconnect promptly and check the save indicator. The same browser can recover a local draft when it matches the current server revision; otherwise the server copy is used. Another device only has the saved server copy. If you see a save conflict, close other exam tabs and use “Reload server copy”; unsaved conflicting edits may be lost.

Do not wait until the final seconds to make major changes. Connection loss does not extend the common deadline. If an issue persists, note your entry number, the time and the error message and contact Engagetal.

05 / YOUR FINAL MOVE

Review once. Submit with care.

  1. Review incomplete and flagged questions. The completion count checks filled answers, not correctness.
  2. Select Review & submit. Read the count of completed and flagged questions in the confirmation dialog. Return to the exam if you want to revise.
  3. Confirm final submission. The website first attempts to save outstanding changes, then asks the server to finalize your attempt. Wait for Submission confirmed.

Final submission is irreversible. You cannot reopen the attempt or change answers, even if time remains. There is one official attempt per participant. A “Submission not confirmed” message is not a successful submission; follow the message and retry while time remains.

At 10 PM, editing closes and your last server-saved answers are finalized automatically. Changes that reach the server at or after the cutoff are not accepted. If the service cannot be reached at expiry, reconnect and check your participant portal; finalization can complete after the deadline using the saved answers and the common 10 PM submission time.

06 / EVERY CHALLENGE COUNTS EQUALLY

60 × 5. 300 possible marks.

Marks for each challenge
Answer at finalizationMarks
Fully correct5
Incorrect, incomplete or unanswered0

Each section is worth 50 marks. There is no negative marking, no partial credit and no section weighting. Every step, match or selection in a multi-part challenge must be correct to earn its 5 marks. The final saved answer is graded; earlier versions do not earn additional marks.

Example: 42 fully correct challenges, 12 incorrect and 6 unanswered give 42 × 5 = 210/300. Replays, review flags and answer changes do not deduct marks. There is no speed bonus added to your score.

Your Nimzle index is used for shortlisting. It is not added to the exam score and is not a final ranking tie-break. Official scores stay hidden until results are published; practice gives feedback after submission.

07 / THE RANKING ORDER

Marks first. Then the tie-breaks.

  1. Higher total exam scoreMore marks always rank ahead of fewer marks.
  2. Earlier final submissionFor equal marks, the earlier server-recorded final submission ranks ahead.
  3. Lower entry numberIf both marks and the precise submission timestamp are identical, the lower registration/entry number ranks ahead.

The submission tie-break uses the actual final submission timestamp, not time spent since starting. Starting late gives no tie-break advantage. All expired attempts use 10:00 PM IST as their submission timestamp, so equal-scoring expired attempts are ordered by entry number. Timestamps are compared at full stored precision, even if two displayed times look identical.

3#142459:45 PMLower entry number at the same exact timestamp
4#422459:45 PMSame exact timestamp as #14

Only approved participants who started an official attempt and have a finalized submission appear in the ranking. An automatically finalized attempt is included, even if its score is zero. A registered participant who never starts the exam is not ranked. The tie-breaks give each listed participant a distinct rank.

08 / A FAIR COMPETITION

Let the work be yours.

  • Use your own account and authentic, unaltered Nimzle evidence. Do not impersonate another student or submit someone else’s performance.
  • Complete the exam independently. Do not use another person, AI assistants, answer services, scripts or automation to solve or submit answers.
  • Do not share, publish or distribute official questions or answers during the competition. Do not collaborate through calls, messaging or screen sharing.
  • Use the provided exam controls. Do not inspect private exam data, manipulate requests or attempt to bypass timing, approval or submission restrictions.
  • Report technical issues accurately. Include your entry number and error details, and avoid posting exam content publicly.

This is an unproctored browser exam. Engagetal may review evidence and seek clarification before publishing results; the interface does not certify identity or automatically detect every form of misconduct.

09 / AFTER THE CLOCK STOPS

Your rank. Your next opportunity.

Results are released on the rankings page after the exam closes and the organiser completes review. The list does not automatically become public at 10 PM. Check the page for publication status.

The top 10 published ranks receive Winter 2026 internships with Engagetal Solutions across software engineering, product management and other roles. Role assignment, dates, duration, location and compensation details will be communicated by Engagetal Solutions.

The public list shows rank, display name, entry number, exam score and award. Your email address and institution are not included. For a result query, email Engagetal with your entry number and a clear description of the issue.
